A proud member of both the 2SLGBTQ+ (Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer , or those who identify with another non-binary gender or minority sexual identity) and Latinx communities, he has professional knowledge working as a community counsellor for the 2SLGBTQ+, immigrant, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour) communities, coordinating projects connected to mental health and wellness for newcomers, and managing a mental health team.

Rafael is a true believer in the benefits of counselling, and encourages anyone to look for this professional support when experiencing some challenges. When I am thus able to be in process, it is clear that there can be no closed system of beliefs, no unchanging set of principles which I hold. Life is guided by a changing understanding of and interpretation of my experience. It is always in process of becoming.
